For the Sennheiser, there is one thing you need to be reminded. It is not an expensive headphone. You cannot compare it with Sennieiser flagship models like HD800. But I can promise you one thing – after you try it, you will love it. Not only the quality, but also the convenience it brings to you.
Just plug in the stand and charger, pop in the included AAA Ni-MH cells and then here-you-go. Sennheiser suggests letting it being charged for 24 hours first. Simply pop the headphones on the stand when you’re not using them and they’ll always be charged and ready.
The Sennheiser RS120 sounds much better than I expected, which actually my expectation is quite high on Sennheiser since this brand has been making professional wireless microphones and headphones for many decades. Due to the build in power amp and the bass, so the overall performance is much better than passive headphone – much smooth and warm. Sound are also well balanced with rich bass and good treble.
I could summarize that it is better than most of the same price ranged wired headphones. Think of the wireless connection, obviously if you want a better sound, you need to stay closer. But I had tested the distance. Within 100 feets, everything is alright and fine.
If you use this headphones for connecting with your media player or computer as a digital source, just plug and play. If you use it for more advance usage such as connecting it with your AV AMP or stereo system, plug it into any TAPE OUT of your receiver or preamp. Then you can use your Stereo system to control your headphone as well. That would give you a much more wonderful sound, with a wider sound stage and sweeter vocal.
If I told you at this price range, the build in power amp can replace your stereo system, i must be lying to you. But this headphone – Senheiser RS120 has its potential. You give more power, then you can get a better sound.
